Another one of my Hobbies

So I created this blog to see my own growth in my "artsy-ness" is that a word?? Well I guess it is now. I've always loved taking photo's but when my Kidletts came along I became almost obsessed lol. My WONDERFUL Hubz bought me my first DSLR for Christmas a year ago.... I've been playing with it and Loving it but I got real comfortable shooting in Aperture Priority... Manual scared the Beezejuz out of me so it was a setting my Camera was not allowed to go to. I have a lovely friend who is an amazing photographer and has an AMAZING mentor in Colorado and we've been sharing photo's back and forth, I send her some for critique. I LOVE her because she shoot's it straight from the hip and Has got me out of my comfort zone and into the world of Manual!! And I have to admit I'm feeling like I'm getting pretty good.

On fathers day for the last 3 years Hubz has worked the Nascar Races in Sonoma, Ca. He loves it and heck it's his day right? Who am I to say no! Well this year he came home and from the race with his usual goodies PLUS.....flower's for ME!!! I got flowers for fathers day!!!! And they're in some of my favorite colors and 2 of my favorite flowers. Have I told you how much I love this man? So I'm sharing my BEAUTIFUL Father's Day flowers with you.
ENJOY!

Bubby's Fathers Day 2010

This is the card I put together for my baby brother, on Thanks giving my little Cowboy brother was jumping on the trampoline at my grandparents house (it's very very old) with the Kids and Riiiiiiiiiiipp! He ripped the mat since then it's become a family giggle and this is where the card's inspiration came from.

This is the card I made on Thursday for Hubz. My middle son Kyle helped design it with me. It's done with EDPD's and I think I used ACY for the font but now I cant remember sorry!

Yesterday was very Busy

My boy's go to school year round so they get out of school later than most schools. And true to form I waited until the last min. to get anything done. I did all the designing in my Gypsy and I totally scrap lifted the teachers gifts from Greenbean's Crafterole. So when I finally got home from the store I got to make 2 cards and the Bathscrubbie Topiary.

Simple Layout

this is my son's school pic from last school year. I decided this year when I changed the school pic out and I didn't know what to do with it that I'm going to scrap them. I just cut the school name and his grade right into the mat and then put it in the page protector right over the little white paper that was in it.

Beach Boys

These are my Guys in Monterey last summer!

I guess I need a challenge lol

Well it seems I do my most creating when I'm challenged. Either that or it was a goal to scrap for the 5 day vacation I have from work. This weekend I've made one card, and 3 lay outs for my middle son Kyle's book. This one is from our trip to Monterey Bay last summer.

My favorite so far!

I'm sad that the color on this isn't so great but I had to improvise as I have seemed to misplace my Canon's charger and I had to take this with my cell phone.
I made this as another 1 hour challenge and it's very simple so I was able to finish it in time. This is by far my Favorite Card I've made. Oh and I made the envelope too! Yay go me!!

This is for a very very very good friend of mine who is being transfered to a new school site and I'm heartbroken. My favorite thing about her beside's she loves me dearly lol, is that she's very down to earth and grounded. She loves plaid shorts and HATES fru-fru. I think this card captures her spirit perfectly. Simple yet beautiful.

My first 1 hour challenge.

So I decided to join in on the 1 hour challenge tonight. I've been avoiding them since there's no way I can do anything in an hour, but I jumped in tonight. And guess what? I didnt finish it in an hour and the world did NOT end! Imaging that. We have mom that works in our class every week doing the prep work and little stuff we don't have time for in the day, she's WONDERFUL!!!!!!! And she wont care that the card's not perfect.. bonus! The inside say's "Many Thanks". We'll all sign it and give it to her tomorrow at our last outing of the year.

Dragonfly Love

This is the card that I made for my mom this mothers day with my mothers day gift. I love how it turned out and so did my mom!

Hello World!

So I've decided to take you all on my adventure with me. I'm not great at keeping track of my impulses whatever they may be. Some are photo's some is sewing and some are scrapbooking/card making. I figure if I'm posting what I'm doing I'll be able to see my growth and I'd love the company. So sit back and relax because with me, you never know what direction were going to go!
